Somatic Experiencing® is a body oriented approach that supports nervous system regulation and resilience. 


Somatic Experiencing sessions support your body to re-organize itself and integrate the difficult or frightening experiences from the past.  


 It's the stuck signaling system inside our bodies that has us feeling distress. 


Somatic Experiencing can gently support finding the shift. 


Instead of continuing to be stuck in overdrive (fight or flight), or in neutral (freeze)  we can feel better, think more clearly and move forward with our lives.

At the beginning, SE will feel like familiar "talk therapy" where you might share about your current concerns and situation, what you'd like to be different, and what is going well in your life.  


We explore and deepen connection with resources such as positive experiences in your life, strengths that you have, activities, people, animals or spiritual support that you feel a connection with. 


As we do this, your capacity to be with thoughts and images about the harder pieces of life expands. You are more likely to experience a gentle healing, with less pain in the process, as you move forward. We find reliable ways for your system to find a return to a calm and connected state. 


We will be curious about how you might be experiencing your emotions or thoughts in your body, such as tension, tight muscles, or a pleasant experience like breathing easily and feeling a sense of warmth in your face or chest. You may have no idea and feel nothing...and that is ok and not unusual. 


You can't do this wrong! 


We are supporting your nervous system to have some flow and flexibility, versus feeling "stuck" in states that feel rigid and tense, or kind of numb. The outcome we are looking for is more flow and flexibility in your life. 


In session that will look like pauses to slow down experiences so you can move through and integrate a new experience, while you're observing and curious, and supported by your therapist. 


You learn some methods we practice in session, and learn to use them more on your own.  


What is NOT happening: 


Somatic Experiencing with me does NOT include massage, Physical Therapy, or any physical adjustments.

I offer both! 


Yes! EMDR & SE Intensive Sessions are possible when the conditions are right for a good outcome.


Intensives are usually a set of extended sessions with a purposeful schedule, where we work towards pre-determined focused goals. 


I offer Intensives as an integration into regular client sessions when we specifically want to reprocess and resolve past traumatic events or a stuck place. 


The first conditions we look for : 

A sense of safety and access to effective stabilization tools. I'll help you with that.  


I offer support as you access a reliable way to come back to settling and connection with the present moment.
